2006/2007 Happy Wanderer & Harbor Cove Update

Since posting our Fall 2006 Trip to Indio CA we have arrived and been very busy.

We viewed the new park model trailer in Phoenix and it was what we ordered. We arrived in Indio on Wednesday November 1st and had our old 1972 park model trailer sold by that evening. The only problem with that is that the person who bought it wanted to take it by the end of the next day. We tried to unpack all our possessions but could not do it in a day. We got a reprieve until 1 pm Friday. We did not realize we had so much stuff jammed in such a small space.

We then asked the factory to ship our new home and it arrived on November 10th. It took time to get it anchored and earth quake proof. We moved in on Sunday November 19th. We have spent the last three weeks ordering furniture, building decks, putting on skirting and generally making the unit more livable. If you go to http://pictures.aol.com/galleries/travellingjenks and have a look at the old and the new. We still have lots of construction to complete including the delivery of and awning over the decks and patio.

We are going home for Christmas so will have a break from all this work. Hopefully when we return we can get back to Golf.

Seasons greetings to you all.

As we come close to the end of our five month stay in Indio California it has been quite the five months. We have completed our new home hand had open house last Monday. We returned home for Christmas to 10 days and enjoyed being with the family, particularly my father Gordon. We also attended my niece Jen's wedding to Mike. It was held out on the west coast of
Vancouver Island.

The sad news upon our return to California was the passing on of my Dad. he lived 88 great years and we celebrated his live in a wonderful day on January 27th.

We are getting ready to leave for home shortly but before we to we are off on one more trip to the Copper Canyon in Mexico. We leave for Mazatian Mexico out of Ontario CA on Saturday March 17th. We will then spend 6 days travelling the canyon on the Chihuahua-Pacific Train an unbelievable journey in the the Copper Canyon , Mexico's last frontier. We will buss out of Chihuahua for El Paso TX and arrive home here in Happy Wanderer on the evening of Saturday March 24th. I will try and do an update to the blogspot on route on when we get home.

Once back in California we will do a hurried clean up and pack up and head back to Vanvouver on by April 2nd.

Well we have been home since early April. All is well. We sure enjoyed our trip to Copper Canyon in Mexico. Trip home was fast and uneventful. We have been busy with appointments and general spring clean up. Still lots of work. We are planning a 10 day fishing trip up to the Caribou in mid June. We will spend 10 days of travelling with some golf and visiting friends along the way. We want to be home the first week in July to welcome my brother and his family. More importantly we are also going to be grandparent's for the first time. We defiantly want to be home to support our daughter. It is going to be a fun filled summer as we visit with my brother and sister and get used to being grandparents. We plan to leave for the south in early October heading east then down through the Dakotas.

Regards, Dave and Marilyn
